What is the UKPSF?

You may have seen a new message that pops up when you view any of our paintball marker products or packages on our online store, telling you that you will now be required to confirm your age with ID and proof that you're in a paintballing club, site or association such as the 'UKPSF' for you to continue with the purchase of a paintball marker.

This is to ensure that paintball markers are being sold to responsible adults who's intentions are to use them at registered paintball venues with public liability insurance. By joining the UKPSF, you can then purchase paintball markers from paintball retailers such as ourselves.

So, we're here to help provide you with some information on what the UKPSF is, and what they do for the paintball community!

The UK Paintball Sports Federation (UKPSF) was first Established in 1990 as a voluntary body that exists to promote paintball as a sport in all of its forms. They liaise with government bodies and various local authorities to try to make the game of paintball fun and safe to play. The UKPSF constantly works closely with government departments and has helped clarify several laws relating to paintball in the United Kingdom.

Members include players, companies operating and promoting paintball venues & events, as well are suppliers of paintball equipment and goods such as ourselves at Just Paintball UK.

Liaising with Government

Paintball is subject to a range of legislation and one of the UKPSF’s key roles is to draw the requirements of such legislation to the attention of its members.

The UKPSF liaises with Government as developments in the sport throw up questions regarding legal issues.

In this role, the UKPSF is the ‘go to’ organisation for both national bodies (such as the Home Office and the Association of Chief Police Officers) and local authorities when seeking advice and guidance.

UKPSF Membership

Having a broadly based and substantial membership is important to the UKPSF’s ability to represent the interests of paintball. Consequently another of the UKPSF’s objectives is constantly to increase the number of members. To that end, the UKPSF has developed schemes in conjunction with insurers and others to provide membership benefits for both players and companies involved in the sport. This is an on-going process that will see member benefits expanding and improving. Membership is open to all with an interest in paintball and can now be obtained via the UKPSF’s membership system.

A 1 year player membership will auto renew every year at £5 unless cancelled by the member themselves.
